PADI DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING
Try scuba diving koh tao with New Way Divers...
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course (DSD) with New Way Diving gives beginners a chance to try scuba diving without having to commit to the open water course. Your instructor will show you some basic skills and take you on an underwater tour up to 12 meters. If you like it you can do a second dive after, if you love it (and we know you will) you can carry on to the PADI open water course.
10.00a.m – 11.45a.m
You’ll get some paperwork done and complete a medical form, before getting sized up for your diving. Afterwards your instructor will take you through some very basic theory about what to do and what not to do under the water.
There will be a quick quiz at the end (which is very easy) and then you’ll be ready to head out on our boat. Make sure you have a big breakfast, as although we provide plenty of cookies, fruits and refreshments, diving burns lots of calories!
11.45a.m – 5.30p.m
It’s time to head out diving! We’ll take you to the best shallow & calm dive site for the conditions that day. You’ll be helped into your gear by your instructor. You’ll get in the water and head for the beach. You have to show you can do 4 simple skills in water deep enough to stand up in. After that you’ll be getting the hang of breathing and controlling your buoyancy for the rest of the dive. There’ll be lots to see by you might not notice so much as you practice the art of diving with your instructor! Most students make it to 6-8m on their first dive.
After a small break we’ll usually change dive sites for your second dive (remember with us it is free!). Now that you have more control over your diving you’ll start to notice so much more diversity in the marine life around you and most people really start to fall in love with the feeling over floating weightlessly.
If you loved the day, remember you can always carry on to complete the full Open Water course. You only pay the remaining amount between the cost of our PADI Open Water course and the money you already paid for your PADI Discover Scuba Diving course.
Please note that we can only go to the best dive sites if weather conditions and visibility are good. It is not about numbers of students with us. If you are the only one and the weather is good, then you get the boat to yourself! If conditions mean we can’t go there then we go to the best dive site for the conditions. Remember sea conditions can affect where we dive, even though we are lucky on Koh Tao that we only get a few bad days of weather a year.
